Here we go...

Hi there! Welcome to Musician on a Mission. If you don't already know me, my name is Kate Johnson, and I am a musician with a calling from God to go to the nations and use music as a tool to bring people to Jesus. I want to use this site and these blogs to connect to people around the world, and let everybody know what I'm doing out in the nations. This first post will explain a little bit about my last season, and what God is calling me too in this next one.

2019 was an incredible year! I started raising support to do my Music DTS with YWAM Perth, and in late June I was off to Australia! I spent 6 months learning about Jesus and growing in my relationship with Him. I lived in Australia for 3 months, and spent 3 months in Indonesia, Nepal and India. I developed my skills in music and expanded my knowledge of God and His creation. I made friends for life and rejoiced with them as we saw God provide over $63,000 in just a few short weeks. I travelled to 8 different countries,

over 4 continents and wrote over 30 songs. God has taken me above and beyond in 2019, but that is just the start!

Throughout my DTS I had been praying about coming back to YWAM Perth and joining staff, and as I did so God spoke very clearly. During our "Missions week" of lecture phase we rolled out a giant map of the world, that covered the floor of the auditorium. We walked around the map and each went and stood on countries to pray for them. At one point I was stood on the UK and I felt God clearly say to me, "You can go anywhere you want, and I will be with you, but you are not supposed to stay here". Wow...that was crazy to hear! I suddenly had everywhere in the world to chose from, except the UK. After that I prayed a lot into the word God had given me and also thought a lot about where I felt I could best be used. I sat with God and told Him that I wanted to join staff at YWAM Perth, and I asked Him to confirm that that was where He wanted me, by opening the doors that I pushed. As I prayed and enquired, God continued to open the doors and bring confirmation that this is exactly where He wants me.

So there you have it, in March 2020 I will fly back to Perth Australia to join staff with YWAM Perth on a 2 year commitment! I am currently still praying over which ministry to join, however there are many opportunities for me that all use music as a way of reaching people and nations with the gospel. There will also be opportunity for me to be a part of different ministries during my commitment. Along with staffing, I will be attending the MDS (Ministry Development School), which is an accredited course within Australia, that runs at the same time as my staff commitment. I am really excited to see where God takes me this year and how He uses me to reach people all over the world. Over the next 3 months I will be raising support and preparing to leave and I could definitely do with your prayers!

Prayer points:

• That God provides the monthly support I need for the next 2 years

• That my visa process goes well and that God provides the finances for that

• That God provides finances for my flight

• That I raise the required school fees for the MDS course

• That I would have clear confirmation over which ministry to join

I can't wait to see all that God does in this next season, and where He takes me in the physical and in my relationship with Him.
