Wow...long time no speak. So sorry that this update is massively overdue, and really I have no other excuse except that life is busy; I guess that's a good thing! It would take me a long time to fill you in on everything I've missed in my absence from this site, and I don't want to bore you too much with things you will have already seen through my social media. Instead lets just get up to date on what's happening in the here and now...
Moving House
As you probably know, since joining staff last year I have lived in a house called Cheriton with (despite rotations of a few people) 21 other housemates. It's definitely been interesting and I am so grateful that this is the house I was placed in to join staff, especially with the lockdown we had this time last year. Recently I have been really praying about moving to a new house off of YWAM accommodation, to spread my wings a little bit and also really give this whole adult thing a whack, without the safety net of parents or YWAM...you know like "real 20 somethings" do. I am pleased to say that that prayer has been answered! On May 3rd I'll be moving to an apartment just a couple of streets away with some really good friends and I cannot wait. Theres a lot of information that goes into the move and what it'll look like, so maybe I'll do a whole separate update with that, but those are the cliff notes!

New Church
I know what you're thinking, "she's a pastors kid and a missionary but she doesn't go to church? Call yourself a christian..." yikes haha. Truthfully for a long time my excuse for not attending church on Sunday morning was the lockdown, but seeing as our restrictions ended almost completely last August I don't think I can keep saying that - and as of now I don't have to! After trying a few different churches out, Jared and I have started attending a brand new church here in the city called Tribes. We really enjoy it, and Jared is already serving on the worship team (I'm sure I'll be roped in very soon). On Easter Sunday we had a sunset service at the beach, in true Aussie fashion, and we'll be starting up connect groups in the next couple of weeks. It's so nice to be part of a church again, and just to have that extra covering and community is something I didn't realise how much I missed!
Love is in the air
For a lot of my friends its that season of dropped knees and new diamonds! Two of my good friends (and at one time roommates) have recently gotten engaged, which is incredibly exciting. Daniel was one of my first friends here on staff, and was someone who made me feel so welcome when I first joined. It really wasn't very long before Tazmin and I became best friends when she arrived here last year, (the sharing a bunkbed only accelerated our already fast and firm friendship). They are two of the coolest and most stellar people I know, and with that being said, we had to celebrate them in style! Tazmin is staffing our January quarter DTS (Discipleship Training School) and so has just left for 3 months of outreach, (be sure to keep her and the team in your prayers!) but before she left we had an awesome engagement party for them in my back garden - being able to throw killer parties is definitely something I'll miss about this current house.
Ministry
PTX are still on the grind, churning out as many songs as we can muster, and looking for opportunities to perform. In a couple of weeks time we will have a small performance at a bar nearby, and we're hoping to get another outreach in the works very soon as well. In February we entered one of my songs "Out Of My Mind" in the Western Australia Music's Song of the Year competition. We think the song is really fantastic and we're hopeful about our chances of winning, so that's definitely something to be praying into with us. Slightly unrelated to ministry but still in the category of work, some opportunities have presented themselves to me in the form of pub gigs. This is a great chance for me to be performing more regularly, practicing my gifts, testing my new songs on live audiences, and will also provide me with a bit of extra finances! I would really love your prayers into these avenues, and I'll be sure to keep you posted (predominantly through instagram) about how that goes.

Health
I bet you're all sick of hearing about my back problems, and so am I, which is why I'm pleased to tell you all that it's been improving massively! After attending regular physio-therapy sessions since October, and a few pilates classes in February, I have noticed a huge difference in my capacity, and my pain levels have decreased. Unfortunately, at the end of February I ran out of finances to fund my physio, and so I haven't been able to keep my bi-weekly sessions, but I am in faith that God will continue to provide until my healing is complete! If you want to know more about how you can partner with me in this area specifically, I'd love to hear from you.

There are definitely things I'm forgetting about, but hey that's what my social media is for, so if you're not following along with my instagram, or the PTX instagram for that matter, then make sure you head over there and stay well informed!
I really appreciate all your love and support of me here on the mission field. Your prayers, gifts and financial support are a true blessing to me and my ministry, and I am eternally thankful for all you have done. I am crazy blessed to live this life and to answer this call, and a lot of it is thanks to you, so THANKYOU!
God Bless, and speak soon;
Lots of love,
Kate <3
